We do a couple of different things. We do bleaching to whiten the teeth, we do Invisalign to straighten the teeth, or a regular orthodontics. We also can do veneers for one what might call an extreme makeover. We can combine crowns and veneers together and change the way your smile looks. That's a process. We take some molds, we wax them up to perfect, and then we prep the teeth and we put on temporaries to make them look natural. If you like that smile then, we can work with that, give that to a laboratory, they'll give us back our crowns and veneers. We cement them on and your good as gold. It's not a real long process, it takes a couple of appointments to do and it's a real easy way to brighten your smile.
What is the focus of cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry will improve the esthetic nature of your smile. Thanks to our highly trained team of Leawood, KS cosmetic dentists, you can improve the color, shape, size, and position of your teeth, as well as correct issues with your bite.
How can veneers help my smile?
Dental veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that bond to the front side of your teeth. They are an effective treatment for several cosmetic flaws, whether chipped or cracked teeth, a misshapen tooth, small gaps, or severe staining. Dental veneers will cover any imperfections and give your tooth the look you need to have a great smile. We even have custom shading to match your veneer to your other teeth. If you cover most of your teeth with veneers, you can choose the level of brightness you want for your new smile.
What kind of dental whitening does S&G Family Dentistry offer?
A lot of people really all they’re looking for is making their teeth lighter and brighter and tooth bleaching I think is the easiest least expensive non-evasive way to do something like that. We do a lot of it here. We actually have a whitening for life program where if you are a patient that’s of record of coming for dental cleans, you get free tooth bleaching. That’s a thing that we’ve offered for a long time. It’s been a big hit.
I bleach my teeth, my own and I don’t have any problems with that at all. I don’t see any reasons why people wouldn’t want to do that. Or should be scared of I guess I should say. If you want to take the next step further, you can talk about maybe they want to line their teeth up. Maybe that’s the issue. It’s not that they need crowns or bridges, maybe they need one tooth moved. That’s where Invisline might come into play, or maybe traditional braces. Move that one tooth and do bleaching and you’re in good shape.
Other people they don’t, they cannot chew, they’re missing teeth in the back. They need dental implants. Or maybe in the front need dental implants, or missing a tooth. That’s where that would come into play. Or maybe the teeth aren’t just in such bad shape and they do need crowns or they do need veneers everywhere. We can do that too. A lot of those cases are the ones that you go, “Wow those really look good.” They started out with something that they were not happy with, were unable to smile, were unable to be in public in their mind and they weren’t. Now they’re totally changed their personality when they’re finished. They’re talking to people, they’re loving life again. It’s neat to see those changes
What orthodontic options does S&G Family Dentistry offer?
S&G Family Dentistry knows how important straight teeth are to a great smile. That is why we have many orthodontic offerings for our patients, including:
- Traditional Braces – This is the most well-known orthodontic option. We use a combination of metal brackets, bands, and wires to correct even the most out-of-position teeth.
- Ceramic Braces – Similar to traditional braces, these clear braces use ceramic brackets instead of metal. This means they will blend in with your teeth and not appear so obvious to those around you.
- Invisalign – No metal, no wires, no problems! Invisalign can help you get a straight smile in as little as 12 months. With the help of the Invisalign clear alignment trays (kind of like a mouthguard), you can straighten your smile in less time than braces – and no one knows but you. Ask Dr. Schopper if Invisalign is right for you.
What is teeth contouring and crown lengthening?
Teeth contouring refers to adjusting the shape of tooth that is deformed or misshapen. This quick, painless process can do wonders for the look of your smile. Crown lengthening will expose more of the white part of your teeth by adjusting the height of your gumline.
Can you get rid of my gummy smile?
A gummy smile refers to gums that cover too much of your teeth. Laser treatment from S&G Family Dentistry can restore the balance of gums to teeth. The laser painlessly and quickly shapes your gumline to achieve a normal, even appearance.
Can you correct my gum recession?
Are your gums moving away from your teeth? Do your teeth look too long and your gums too short? Our dentists can perform gum grafting to correct gum recession. We will prep the area and place new gum material to restore the health and appearance of your gums.
What is a smile makeover?
A smile makeover is a way for your dentist to completely remake the appearance of your smile with a single treatment plan. Combining only the cosmetic treatments you need will lead to your new smile in a shorter amount of time. Ask Dr. Schopper how a smile makeover can give you the perfect smile you’ve always wanted.
What is tooth bonding?
Tooth bonding can quickly correct issues like chipped and cracked teeth. It is also used to correct diastema (gap between teeth). For this simple procedure, your dentist will use a composite resin to cover the cosmetic flaws in your smile. The resin blends in with your teeth and requires no enamel removal prior to application.
